This page is for franchise owners whose brand has asked them to send their insurance documents to Rikor. It explains why, what you need to do, and what you can expect.

The short version

  • Your brand requires you to take part in insurance monitoring through Rikor.
  • You can keep your current insurance agent. Buying insurance through Rikor is optional.
  • Monitoring costs you nothing. If you choose to buy a policy through us, you pay for the insurance.
  • Sending documents does not request a quote or change your insurance.

Why your brand did this

Your brand wants the business you've invested in to be protected. One uninsured claim can end a franchisee's business, and it can land on the brand too. Checking every location's insurance against the brand's requirements, tracking renewal dates and following up when something lapses takes steady attention across a whole network. Rikor does that work for your brand.

Rikor is an insurance agency that works only with franchise businesses. Checking documents is one part of what we do. If you want help reviewing or shopping your coverage, you can also work with one of our consultants, free.

What you need to do

  1. Watch for the request. Your brand introduces Rikor first, then you get a request from Rikor with a link to your brand's requirements and your upload page. The introduction emails are not the request.
  2. Get your certificate of insurance (COI). Ask the agent who handles your business insurance for a current certificate that shows your brand's requirements, including the certificate holder exactly as your brand lists it. See What the certificate holder on my COI should say.
  3. Upload it by the date in your request. See How to upload a COI. Your agent or someone on your team can help, but don't share your sign-in code.

Not sure an email is really from us? Ask your brand, or email support@rikor.io or call 844-616-9663 before you click.

After you upload

We check your certificate against the requirements that apply to your business, and we check it the same way whether or not you buy insurance from us. Uploading is not the same as passing: if something is missing or short, we follow up and tell you what needs attention. We also track your renewal dates and ask for an updated certificate when a policy renews.

A flagged item doesn't always mean you have no coverage. It can mean we couldn't confirm a requirement from what was sent. Have your agent check the policy and send a corrected certificate, or ask us what the result means. See My COI won't upload if the upload itself fails.

Meeting your brand's requirements is not the same as every risk being covered. Monitoring checks your certificate against the brand's minimums. It doesn't review every policy term or guarantee a claim is paid.

Common questions

Can I skip it if I'm happy with my insurance? No. Monitoring is your brand's requirement. You can turn down the optional review and still send your documents. Questions about deadlines or exceptions go to your brand.

I already sent documents to my brand. Tell us when and to whom. Documents sent elsewhere may not have reached Rikor.

I have several locations or entities. Tell us which locations and entities each certificate covers, and check that names and addresses match. See How should I structure my insurance if I have more than one entity?

Different agents handle different policies. Ask each agent for the certificate for their coverage. You can upload from more than one.

A requirement doesn't fit my business. Tell us which one and why. Rikor doesn't waive your brand's requirements, but we can help sort out what to ask your brand.

Who handles my policy changes, billing and claims? If you keep your current agent, they still do. Monitoring doesn't make Rikor your agent.

What does my brand see? Your brand sees your insurance records and status for its network. Ask us if you want to know exactly what your brand can see.

I'm still getting reminders after I uploaded. We may need another document or a correction, or your upload may still be in review. Reply with your brand and business name and we'll check.
