Trouble Logging Into the RMS? Here's How to Fix It
If you're experiencing login issues with the Rikor Risk Management System (RMS)—such as blank screens, a glitching login page, a blinking login dialogue box, or missing data upon login—you may be dealing with a cache-related bug in your web browser.
What’s Causing the Issue?
Web browsers store cached data to improve load times for frequently visited websites. However, over time, this stored information can become outdated or corrupted, leading to conflicts when logging into web-based applications like RMS. This can cause login failures, missing data, or visual glitches.
To resolve this issue, follow these step-by-step instructions to perform a hard refresh and clear the problematic cache.
Step-by-Step Fix: How to Perform a Hard Refresh and Clear Cache
Step 1: Log Out of RMS
If you are currently logged in, click on your profile in the top-right corner.
Select Log Out to ensure your session is fully closed.
If you can’t access the logout button due to a glitch, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Close All Browser Windows
Completely exit all browser tabs and windows—not just the one with RMS.
If using Google Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, right-click the browser icon in your taskbar or dock and select 'Quit' to ensure it’s fully closed.
Step 3: Perform a Hard Refresh
A hard refresh forces the browser to reload the page and discard cached files. Here’s how to do it for different browsers:
Google Chrome (Windows & Linux): Press Ctrl + Shift + R or Ctrl + F5
Google Chrome (Mac): Press Command + Shift + R
Firefox (Windows & Linux): Press Ctrl + Shift + R
Firefox (Mac): Press Command + Shift + R
Microsoft Edge: Press Ctrl + Shift + R
Safari: Press Command + Option + R
Step 4: Clear Your Browser Cache (If the Issue Persists)
If a hard refresh doesn’t work, manually clear your browser cache:
Google Chrome:
Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Select Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
Choose Cached images and files (you can leave other options unchecked).
Click Clear data and restart the browser.
Firefox:
Click on the three-line menu (≡) in the top-right corner.
Select Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
Click Clear Data, check Cached Web Content, and press Clear.
Microsoft Edge:
Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
Select Cached images and files, then click Clear now.
Safari:
Click Safari > Preferences > Privacy.
Click Manage Website Data > Remove All.
Step 5: Restart Your Browser and Log In Again
Reopen your browser.
Go to Rikor RMS login page.
Enter your credentials and attempt to log in.
